Text Box: 3 Candidates for President of Down By The Docks Playground Club Text Box: It’s official, there will be three candidates in the upcoming election for President of the Down By The Docks Playground Club. Now it is up tp you to decide between Leroy The Lobster, Gina The Bald Eagle and Carleton T. Crabbe. This will be the first election ever for the Playground Club which was recently created to lead the development of the virtual playground on Little Island. The election came from a heated discussion between Leroy The Lobster and Carleton T. Crabbe about where a sand castle should go. Since Leroy and Carleton could not come to some agreement, Daryl (of the General Store) Text Box: suggested they have an election to decide. Neither candidate had any idea what an election was (Leroy asked if it had something to do with electricity) Daryl and Lou Lou (the Docks Keeper) sat down and created the rules. Everyone in the world who is 8 years old and under can vote by mail or email. If you own a house on Little Island you can vote as well. (Please visit www.ourlittleisland.et to see if you own a house) As they were going over the guidelines Gina The Bald Eagle thought she might run for President to which Carleton said,” You can’t run.” Gina asked Carleton why and he Text Box: replied, “Because you’re a girl”. That was it Gina announced she was running for President. The election has been set for November 30, 2008 to give everyone a chance to learn about the candidates and what they will do as President. Daryl and Lou Lou felt the new President would need help so they created a parliament where library reading groups, classrooms, pre-schools etc. from all over the world could elect a person to be in the new Playground Club Parliament.
