Welcome to the Down By The Docks election
headquarters. With all the interest worldwide in the USA Presidential
election, we developed an opportunity
to capitalize on the interest by developing an education plan to give
children 8 years old and under a chance not only to learn about elections but
to become involved in one. Our goal
with this program is to create awareness about the differences in the many
systems around the world. Down By The Docks is will not be advocating one
system over the another during this process. This exercise is to inform and
create an understanding of our global community. Should you wish to participate, Down By The Docks
will provide educational materials on our TV website at www.dockstv.com. We
will announce participants on the website and post any posters developed by
the children.
All languages
and cultures are welcome, English will be our primary language of
communicating with everyone but we welcome to opportunity to learn words and
phrases from other cultures. Monies raised by our candidates will go to election
expenses (mailouts, website development etc.) and to purchase educational
supplies (pencils, paper etc) for children in need. Children’s entertainers, Down By The Docks have been
performing for children in concert and on TV for the past 7 years. The group
has been nominated for an East Coast Music Award (ECMA) in Canada and has
been a finalist for a Children’s Music Web Award. Their TV show has been
viewed on community stations all over North America and currently is
broadcast on www.dockstv.com. Their live concerts have taken them across
Canada and to the Cayman Islands. Down By The Docks has performed live over
the Internet in a virtual concert continuing their innovative efforts to use
